DA NANG TO HOST FIRST INT’L FIREWORKS FESTIVAL

Vietnam’s first International Fireworks Festival will be held in the city March 27 - 28, the director of Da Nang Tourism Department Ngo Quang Vinh announced.

Teams from Hong Kong, Canada, Malaysia and Vietnam will compete in the festival on the bank of the Han River in Da Nang.

The contest will run for 20 minutes each night.

The first-prize is US$6,000, with $3,200 for second and $1,800 for third places.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved import and value added tax exemptions for the festival’s fireworks.
